Pslam 24:1 informs us that everything belongs to God, saying, "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell in it."

As followers of Christ, one of the primary ways we worship God is through our giving. As a church, we are called to be faithful stewards of all He has entrusted to us—our time, talents, and treasure. Through prayerful discernment and wisdom, we aim all our resources towards His glory and Kingdom Impact.

At Westover, we steward our giving via three main designated funds, each serving a distinct ministry purpose: Our General Fund, Missions Fund, and People Helping People Fund.
General
This fund fuels the day-to-day ministry of Westover—from utilities, facilities, and staff salaries to the snacks our kids enjoy in their classrooms each Sunday. The General Fund keeps our church family resourced, supported, and equipped for ministry.

Global Missions
Missions has been part of Westover's DNA from the beginning, a value still reflected in our giving today! This fund advances the Gospel through the ministries of our Global Partners scattered around the World.

People Helping People
The PHP offering goes towards supporting everything that falls under the umbrella of Local Missions—helping meet the needs of local organizations and individuals in the Greater Greensboro community.

Global Missions
Our Missions Fund advances the Gospel through Kingdom Impact around the world through the ministries of our Global Partners. Missions has been part of Westover's DNA since its inception, a value we still hold today and reflect in our giving. On the first Sunday of the month, unless otherwise designated, all giving is directed entirely to Global Missions.

People Helping People
Collected on the last Sunday of each month, the PHP offering is a special offering that goes towards supporting everything that falls under the umbrella of Local Missions. This includes emergency benevolence as well as support for area partnerships that extend our reach as a church family.

As a church, Westover takes financial stewardship seriously, implementing practices to ensure transparency, accountability, and integrity.
Internal Accountability
Financial decisions are never made in isolation.  For example, deacons and elders must approve expenses over certain levels, and staff salaries are reviewed by a designated committee. Also, all offerings are counted and signed off on by at least 2 staff members and 2 volunteers.
Anonymity in Giving
We believe that giving is a personal act of worship between you and God.  Only two staff members have access to giving records for tax purposes.  All others are unaware of individual or family giving amounts.
Thoughtful Budgeting
Each year, a budget is carefully constructed with input from multiple levels of leadership. This guides us to allocate resources intentionally as we strive to walk in faith and prudence.
Simple Presentation of Need
At Westover, we believe that giving should be a heartfelt response to Scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit, not the result of pressure or persuasive speech. In alignment with our constitution, we commit to communicating through a simple presentation of need.  “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
External Accountability
Each year we bring in an independent team from a CPA firm to conduct a full audit of financials and procedures. This is an investment of money and time that goes beyond regulatory requirements, and it provides meaningful oversight.
